Sisters With Voices is a new Community Interest Company based in Sunderland, working to use dance and creative arts to improve life for victims/survivors of rape and sexual violence in one of the most deprived communities in England.

Founded in 2018 SWV believes that a mix of holistic approaches and wellbeing support are excellent tools for tackling many different issues related to sexual and domestic violence against women and young girls.  We will deliver training and workshop programmes directly to local community members and also within partnership working frameworks with other relevant agencies.  The key aim is to engage with a wide target beneficiary audience across many different demographics.  We uphold and promote the belief in social, economic, and political equality of the sexes and are committed to activity which reflects and promotes women’s rights and interests.   We recognise that that sexual violence is a crime of violence and abuse of power, and that it is the cause and consequence of gender inequality.   We also recognise that by working to feminist principles we actively promote equality by recognises that the woman is never to blame for being abused.  We also actively promote substantive equality by providing women only space and women only pathways striving to make services available and accessible to all women
